Deputy Clerk of Circuit Court - Register of Probate Office

The Richland County Register in Probate Office has an opening for a Deputy Clerk of Circuit Court. This is a full-time position at 35 hours per week. Knowledge of the court process is preferred. Candidates must be willing to work in both the office and courtroom settings and possess:

  • Associate degree in administrative professional, legal secretary, information systems, accounting or related fields.
  • Two years job experience in court-related or legal office setting.
  • Professional experience using personal computers and contemporary business office software.

Equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability to proficiently perform the duties of this position may be accepted.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Job experience in a public administration setting.
  • Ability to work effectively through stressful situations.
  • Minimum typing rate of 60 words per minute corrected. Typing, computer and other skills tests will be required.

Current starting wage is $18.99 per hour. County health, retirement and other fringe benefits available. A full description of the position and responsibilities may be obtained from the Register in Probate Office at 181 West Seminary Street, Richland Center, Wisconsin.
