Health & Human Services Director

Richland County has a full-time opening for a Health & Human Services Director. The purpose of this position is to direct, administer and supervise all of the programs and services within the Health & Human Services Department of Richland County. Successful applicants should have experience with State and Federal programming requirements; budgeting and fiscal management; legal requirements of programs; goals, principles, and practices with demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership and make quality decisions; plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate performance; develop plan and administer complex health and human service programs; set priorities and work under time limits. This department head position participates in Health & Human Services and Veterans Committee, County Board, and other State and local committee meetings. Must have the ability to work cooperatively, accurately, and efficiently with the Richland County Administrator, County Board, its subunits, elected officials, department heads, and employees.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with the knowledge, skills, and abilities which include a thorough knowledge of health and human services required. Five years of experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity is also required.

The wage range for this 40-hr/week position is $83,554-$94,952 annually. Includes health insurance, WRS retirement, and other fringe benefits. Offering flexible work schedule and ability to occasionally work remotely.
